Personalised Planning

Kildare Catholic College is committed to supporting personalised learning for all students. We believe that every student is unique and has the potential to succeed, and we work hard to create individualised learning plans that meet the needs of each student. To get to know our students and their needs, we gather information from a variety of sources, including teacher observations and assessments, student self-assessment, parent input, standardised test results, and student work samples.

As required, we meet with students and their parents to discuss their goals and develop a personalised learning plan. This plan may include differentiated instruction, accommodations and modifications, enrichment activities, and additional support from teachers, specialists, or other staff members.

We monitor each student’s progress regularly and make adjustments to their personalised learning plan as needed. We also involve students and their parents in the review process to ensure that everyone is on the same page and that the plan is meeting the student’s needs.

Intervention Model

Kildare Catholic College is committed to providing all students with the support they need to succeed, regardless of their individual needs. We maintain a strong focus on intervention, with a variety of models in place to support students who are struggling or who need additional enrichment. Our intervention models are based on the latest research and best practices, and they are tailored to the specific needs of each student.

One of our most effective intervention models is our Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). MTSS is a data-driven approach to intervention that provides all students with the support they need to be successful in the general education classroom. MTSS is implemented in three tiers:

  • Tier 1 provides all students with high-quality instruction and support in the general education classroom.
  • Tier 2 provides additional support to students who are struggling in specific areas. This support may be provided in the general education classroom or in a small group setting.
  • Tier 3 provides intensive support to students who need the most help. This support may be provided in the general education classroom, in a small group setting, or in a one-on-one setting.

In addition to MTSS, we also offer a variety of other intervention programs and services, including:

  • Literacy / Reading intervention
  • Numeracy intervention
  • Behavioural intervention
  • Gifted and talented education
  • English language learner support

We are committed to providing all students with the support they need to succeed, and we are constantly evaluating and improving our intervention models. We invite you to learn more about our intervention programs and services by contacting the College.

Data Strategy

Our Data and Intervention team works closely with teachers and leaders to collect, analyse, and interpret student data. This data is used to inform instructional decisions, provide targeted support to students, and measure the impact of our interventions.

Our current strategies include using data to:

  • Identify students who are at risk of falling behind and to provide them with early intervention.
  • Differentiate instruction and to provide students with the level of challenge and support they need.
  • Track the progress of all students and to identify those who need additional support.
  • Measure the impact of our interventions and to make adjustments as needed.

We are committed to using data to ensure that all students at Kildare Catholic College are successful.
