Wellbeing Framework
Positive Behaviour for Learning
Throughout 2023/24, we are committed to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for all students. We believe that all students can succeed when they feel valued and respected.
That’s why we’re excited to announce that we will be implementing a Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) strategy over the next 12 months. PBL is a proactive, whole-school approach to behaviour management that focuses on teaching and rewarding positive behaviours.
What is PBL?
PBL is a framework that helps schools develop and implement a positive school culture. It is based on the belief that all students can learn and succeed when they are taught and supported in a positive and respectful environment.
PBL schools focus on teaching and rewarding positive behaviours, rather than simply punishing negative behaviours. This helps to create a positive school climate where students feel safe and supported.
How will PBL be implemented at Kildare Catholic College?
We will be working with our staff, students, and parents/carers to develop a PBL plan that is tailored to the needs of our school community.
How parents and potential stakeholders can get involved
We encourage parents and potential stakeholders to get involved in our PBL implementation process. You can do this by attending our upcoming PBL information sessions or even by providing feedback on our PBL plan.
